FAQ

DO I HAVE TO WAIT A WAIT-PERIOD TO TAKE THE M2 COURSE AFTER WRITING THE M1? HOW DOES THAT WORK?

No. With Graduated Licensing in Ontario, you will need to start with your written M1 licence permit. The M1 is valid for 90 days (if it expires before you have tested for your M2, get it reissued).

Once you have a valid M1, you can attend a M2 course and test for the M2 licence at a MTO approved school such as Motorsoul anytime as long as you have a valid M1. Your test result from the course is entered into the MTO database and will remain in their system for 6 months only.

Once you’ve passed your 60 day wait period, you are able to activate your M2 licence at a MTO upgrading facility where they will issue your new licence.
